The Exclusive Economic Zone Cooperation Treaty between Barbados and Guyana identified an area of overlapping EEZ entitlements that is situated beyond the 200 nautical mile reach of Trinidad and Tobago. The Agreement was signed in December 2003, and it went into force on 5 May 2004. The small area defined by this Agreement was to come under the joint management of both Parties.
