Australia–Solomon Islands

In 1988, Australia and the Solomon Islands agreed to establish their maritime boundary in the Coral Sea. The boundary was based on the principle of equidistance and extended for 143 nautical miles. The boundary consists of two line segments that are defined by three coordinate points (U, V and R1). The boundary follows a generally northwest to southeast directional bearing and divides the States’ continental shelves, and Australia’s claimed Fishing Zone from the exclusive economic zone entitlement of the Solomon Islands.
