Guatemala–Honduras

Extending for 260 km, the Guatemala–Honduras land boundary follows a series of straight lines, rivers, and watersheds. The border was first established in a 1933 award, and a joint commission then demarcated the boundary. The border region functions as a hub for crime and illegal migration and both States’ authorities struggle to maintain control over the porous frontier.
