Fiji–France (New Caledonia)

The maritime boundary between Fiji and France’s overseas collectivity of New Caledonia spans 314 nautical miles and follows a north, northwesterly bearing across the South Pacific Ocean. The two States established a delimitation line based on the principle of equidistance in 1983, which was composed of only two points. The maritime boundary delimits the overlapping exclusive economic zone entitlements of New Caledonia and Fiji. The boundary was constructed utilizing the basepoints on New Caledonia’s Hunter Island and Fiji’s Ceva-i-Ra.

The 1983 Agreement also defined the initial maritime boundary definition between Fiji and France (Wallis & Futuna).
