Fiji–France (Wallis & Futuna)

Fiji and the French overseas collectivity of Wallis & Futuna have an established maritime boundary which extends for 244 nautical miles across the South Pacific Ocean. Initially established by agreement in 1983, the boundary was delimited with five coordinates, beginning in the southeast and continuing to the northwest. The boundary was constructed using the principle of equidistance with only “minor divergencies for administrative convenience.”

The Agreement was updated in 1990, and again in 2015, following the establishment of the northernmost point of the boundary as an official tripoint with Tuvalu. The southernmost point of the boundary, a tripoint with Tonga, has yet to be officially defined by the three States.
