The maritime boundary between Denmark (Greenland) and Norway (Svalbard) was established through a bilateral agreement that was reached in 2006, after a year of negotiations. It divides the Fram Strait, which is situated between the opposite coasts of Greenland and Svalbard, with a 429 nautical mile long equidistance line. This maritime boundary serves to delimit the overlapping EEZ and continental shelf entitlements of both States.

Additionally, Denmark and Norway have overlapping extended continental shelf claims to the north and south of the established maritime boundary that have not yet been delimited.
