Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan Boundary Agreement
The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan met on 22 December 2022 in Tashkent to sign a delimitation and demarcation agreement for their 2,357 kilometers land boundary.
Canada Updated Extended Continental Shelf Claim
In December 2022, Canada submitted an addendum to its 2019 extended continental shelf claim, adding an additional area of approximately 827,000 square kilometers in the Arctic Ocean.
Egypt Unilateral Maritime Declaration
On 13 December 2022, Egypt’s President, Abdel Fettah El-Sisi, issued a presidential decree that unilaterally established its lateral maritime boundary with Libya, claiming a maritime area that Libya believes constitutes part of their maritime entitlements under UNCLOS.
